Secondary Skill Levels


As heroes acquire experience points (from various places in the game) they also achieve skill levels. With each level gained, the hero improves in some way. You are given a choice of two levels each time you achieve a level, until you begin to achieve the maximum, so choose what will benefit your hero best!

Air Magic
Increases effectiveness and reduces casting cost of spells cast from this school
Basic: Spells are cast at basic level. See spells area for individual effects.
Advanced: Spells are cast at advanced level. See spells area for individual effects.
Expert: Spells are cast at advanced level. See spells area for individual effects.



Archery
Increases the damage inflicted by ranged attack units
Basic: +10% damage
Advanced: +25% damage
Expert: +50% damage



Armorer
Reduces the damage received in combat
Basic: -10% damage
Advanced: -20% damage
Expert: -30% damage



Artillery
Gives control of the ballasta to the hero and increases effectiveness.
Basic: 2 shots with 50% chance of doing double damage
Advanced: 2 extra shots with 75% chance of doing double damagee
Expert: 2 extra shots with double damage inflicted



Ballistics
Gives control of the catapult to the hero and increases effectiveness.
Basic: 2 shots with 50% chance of doing double damage
Advanced: 2 extra shots with 75% chance of doing double damagee
Expert: 2 extra shots with double damage inflicted



Diplomacy
Wandering armies may join; cost of surrendering is reduced
Basic: 25% offer to join; cost of surrendering reduced by 20%
Advanced: 50% offer to join; cost of surrendering reduced by 40%
Expert: 100% offer to join; cost of surrendering reduced by 60%



Eagle Eye
Hero may learn a spell cast against him
Basic: 40% chance to learn a first or second level spell
Advance: 50% chance to learn a third level or lower spell
Expert: 60% chance to learn a fourth level or lower spell used against him in combat



Earth Magic
Increases effectiveness and reduces casting cost of spells cast from this school
Basic: Spells are cast at basic level. See spells area for individual effects.
Advanced: Spells are cast at advanced level. See spells area for individual effects.
Expert: Spells are cast at advanced level. See spells area for individual effects.



Estates
Hero generates additional income
Basic: Daily income increased by 100 gold
Advanced: Daily income increased by 250 gold
Expert: Daily income increased by 500 gold



Fire Magic
Increases effectiveness and reduces casting cost of spells cast from this school

First Aid
Gives control of the tent to the hero and increases effectiveness.
Basic: Regenerates up to 50 health points in the first creature in the targeted group.
Advanced: Regenerates up to 75 health points in the first creature in the targeted group.
Expert: Regenerates up to 100 health points in the first creature in the targeted group.



Intelligence
Adds a permanent bonus to hero's maximum spell points
Basic: Increases maximum spell points by 25%
Advanced: Increases maximum spell points by 50%
Expert: Doubles maximum spell points



Leadership
Grants a morale bonus (not available to necromancer or death knight)
Basic: +1 morale bonus
Advanced: +2 morale bonus
Expert: +3 morale bonus



Learning
Increases the experience points received from combat and treasure chests
Basic: Earned experience is increased by 5%
Advanced: Earned experience is increased by 10%
Expert: Earned experience is increased by 15%



Logistics
Increases hero's land movement
Basic: Increases movement points by 10%
Advanced: Increases movement points by 20%
Expert: Increases movement points by 30%



Luck
Grants a morale bonus
Basic: +1 luck bonus
Advanced: +2 luck bonus
Expert: +3 luck bonus



Mysticism
Recovers additional expended spell points
Basic: Recovers 2 spell points daily
Advanced: Recovers 3 spell points daily
Expert: Recovers 4 spell points daily



Navigation
Increases hero's water movement
Basic: Increases movement points by 50%
Advanced: Increases movement points by 100%
Expert: Increases movement points by 150%



Necromancy
Percentage of units killed are resurrected as skeletons
Basic: 10% of the enemy's army join
Advanced: 20% of the enemy's army join
Expert: 30% of the enemy's army join



Offense
Increases damage inflicted by troops in combat
Basic: 10% increase in damage
Advanced: 20% increase in damage
Expert: 30% increase in damage



Pathfinding
Reduces penalty for movement over rough terrain
Basic: Refer to movement chart, under construction
Advanced: Refer to movement chart, under construction
Expert: Refer to movement chart, under construction



Resistance
Makes it possible for an ememy's spell to fail
Basic: 5% chance the spell will fail
Advanced: 10% chance the spell will fail
Expert: 20% chance the spell will fail



Scholar
Allows heros to teach and learn spells when meeting for a trade
Basic: Second level and lower spells are traded
Advanced: Third level and lower spells are traded
Expert: Fourth level and lower spells are traded



Scouting
Increases visible area radius
Basic: Visibility increased by 1 square
Advanced: Visibility increased by 2 squares
Expert: Visibility increased by 3 squares



Sorcery
Increases the damage of spells
Basic: 5% increase in spell effectiveness
Advanced: 10% increase in spell effectiveness
Expert: 15% increase in spell effectiveness



Tactics
Enables troop placement on the battlefield prior to combat
Basic: Based upon level possessed by both sides; chart under construction
Advanced: Based upon level possessed by both sides; chart under construction
Expert: Based upon level possessed by both sides; chart under construction



Water Magic
Increases effectiveness and reduces casting cost of spells cast from this school

Wisdom
